More About Us

About Our Facilities:

We insist that our facilities reflect our uncompromising desire to provide our students with the best tools available to succeed. They are clean, safe, beautiful, and convenient for parents who have so much to do each day.

All of our locations feature Stagestep professional Marley Dance Floors. We have color video cameras and big screen televisons to allow viewing of all classes. We even have FREE Wi-Fi for parents that need to continue to work while they wait.

About Our Recital:

A recital is held annually at the end of the school year. We encourage all students to participate. We emphasize dance as a performing art, and your child will gain a sense of accomplishment and confidence from this theatrical experience. There is NO RECITAL FEE. You pay only for the costume (which you keep) and tickets to the show.

About Our X-treme Team:

Our elite group of dancers compete and perform locally and nationally, and they train over 10 hours per week. Their performance accomplishments include benefits for the Alzheimer Family Center, Dan Marino's Retirement Dinner, Miss Florida International Pageants, The 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, The 2004 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, The 2006 International Dance Challenge Senior and Junior "Challenge Champions", and the 2008 Starbound National Production Grand Champions!

Dance Theatre has grown into the largest dance school for children in the Southeastern United States.

School History

Dance Theatre was founded in 1993. We have 6 locations, over 50 instructors and a student body of nearly 2000 strong. We started with a single location called Dance Theatre of Broward, in Davie, FL, which continues to flourish today. In 1996, we added our second location, Dance Theatre at Parkland, located in Coconut Creek, FL. This location has served as home to our award winning DTX Competitive Dance Team, and currently resides in a new 6000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility. In 2005, we opened our third location, Dance Theatre at Heron Bay, located in Coral Springs, FL to serve has a companion school to our Parkland location. In 2008 we added our 4th location, Dance Theatre at Wellington Green, in Wellington, FL. Although still very new, this location has grown each year, and has garnered the prestigous "Best in the West" award in each of its first 3 seasons. Last season, we introduced our 5th location Dance Theatre at Hamburg, in Lexington, KY, taking Dance Theatre Nationwide. This season we are proud to present Dance Theatre at Sandy Springs, in Atlanta, Georgia.

In the nineteen years that Dance Theatre has operated under the direction of Michelle McGrath-Gerlick, her students have been invited to perform at some of the most prestigious venues, including the Summer Olympics, the Super Bowl, the Pro Bowl, The Orange Bowl, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, The London Grand Christmas Parade, and more. Her competitive dancers have won numerous National Championships. Her graduating seniors have achieved placement at some of the most respected and desired dance programs in the nation. Most important, however, is that she and her staff have taught tens of thousands of children to love to dance.

Dance Theatre has grown into the largest dance school for children in the Southeastern United States. It has consistently been recognized for excellence and a dedication to community service, and continues to dominate in one of the most competitive environments to be found in the dance industry.
